About Rob Hegarty
Rob Hegarty is Managing Partner and Founder of Hegarty Group. He brings over 30 years of leadership in financial services and technology, with a track record of success in launching, building, growing, and running businesses at the intersection of Financial Markets, Technology, Data and AI / Machine Learning.
Rob has led large and small businesses, with deep experience in strategic planning, technology, operations, product development, Go-To-Market(GTM), and business development. He was most recently General Manager, Financial Services at DataRobot, the global leader in Automated Machine Learning and Enterprise AI, where he was responsible for revenue growth and all GTM activities for Financial Services, with a focus on Financial Markets and Fintech. Before that, Rob was President of Olmstead Associates, a specialized consulting firm to the investment management industry. Previously, Rob was Global Head of Equities for Thomson Reuters where he had overall responsibility for Thomson Reuters’ $1.2 billion global equities business, including all Equities desktop, transactions, data feeds, and analytics businesses, as well as Global Market Structure. Prior to Thomson Reuters, he was Managing Director, Strategy and Marketing at the Depository Trust and Clearing Corporation, responsible for corporate strategy, planning, marketing, corporate development and market structure. Before that, Rob spent 10 years at TowerGroup, the leading provider of research and advisory services to the global financial services and technology industries, where he launched and led TowerGroup’s Investment Management practice, then led their Capital Markets, Wealth Management, and Insurance practices. Rob also held senior leadership positions at Putnam Investments, Fidelity Investments, and Coopers & Lybrand.
In addition to serving on the boards of public and private companies, and many industry boards, Rob has also been a featured speaker at hundreds of industry conferences and client events globally, been quoted extensively in publications such as The Wall Street Journal, Financial Times, New York Times, Forbes and many others, and has appeared regularly on CNBC-TV (U.S. and Europe), ABC-TV and other broadcast outlets. He holds an M.B.A. from Babson College and a B.S. in computer science from North Adams State College.
